My great grandfather Joey Gold supposedly was good friends with Walter and Winchell and was mentioned alot in his shows - I don't know much about my grandfather and I'd love to know more - I think he was a scalper on Broadway during that time -
If anyone knows of any shows or articles where Mr. Winchell talks of my grandfather or if anyone knows more about Joey Gold please let me know -I very much appreciate the help. I have a photo of him in a Broadway ticket sales room on the phone - the photo is stamped on the back that it was taken by Sammy Davis Jr. The date on the calendar behind him is the month January of 1957. Not for sale - just thought it would help place him in time. Thanks Joey Bey |

| Well, (as Jack Benny might say...)..but...Doesn't Gold's Tickets remain today in New York for those that want special tickets to special events, sports,Broadway Shows...etc.? It seems to me about 15 years ago, I bought "Phanton of The Opera" Broadway show tickets from them in New York to see that sold out performance... They are not really scalpers..but do get a little more then regular price for great seats to events ...is this the same people today? |
