Perhaps you've discovered this already, but if not---Focus on the Family has started to broadcast high-quality production value radio dramas on its' weekly Radio Theatre series. Check out their site below and I think you will be impressed with the high standards of the productions. They won a Peabody award for a recent drama, and I ordered Ben-Hur and can't hardly believe the quality of the cast and total overall production. This is new radio with an old-time radio 'feel' we love. Several C.S. Lewis works are featured, along with Academy Award-winning actor Paul Scofield in some titles. It looks like eight or nine productions are in the can, with more to come. The site has radio station-locator info, ordering info of cd's or cassettes, and currently has realaudio files of three stories.

I have enjoyed the work of Focus on the Family for some time. I hope that FOF continue the Adventures in Odyssey series. If you enjoy NTR/New Time Radio drama may I suggest two other radio programs: First: Imagination Theater www.transmediasf.com and Second: Westway Drama series - www.bbc.co.uk/bbcworldservice
PS - While visiting Pine Ridge, Arkansas I learned that Radio Mystery Theater is being rebroadcasted on Little Rock's Public Radio station KUAR 89.1 FM... I found it and instead of the commercials they provide insights into the program being present |
