In the early 1950s I used to listen to a radio serial show whose main character was David Harding and whose main occupation was counterespionage. The program began with a morse code transmission followed by the words, David Harding calling Washington...Washington calling David Harding. What was the name of that show?

The official title was "Counterspy" but all the listeners called it "David Harding, Counterspy" ala every kid called "The Challenge of the Yukon", Sgt. Preston.
Counterspy was on the air from May 1942 to Aug 1954, on different networks, with different sponsors and many different time slots. Don MacLaughlin played the title lead for the whole run. There are about 50 episodes, covering nearly ever |
