Were any of the live radio broadcasts filmed, and if so, would any of them be available on video? I would especially be interested in the comedy, such as Fibber, Guildersleeve, Life of Riley, Amos and Andy, etc...

| Very good question, Clay. I have been wondering the same thing for some time now. I, too, wish someone would furnish some info on this. I think this could potentially be a nice little "niche" collecting avenue in the hobby--if more info was known on what shows were filmed and where available. Common sense tells one that as great a part as otr was in listener's lives in the 30's and 40's, the movie studios in their search for a ready-made audience would have at least made some short subject films of some of the more popular shows--perhaps some series with no or few existing episodes could possibly have a "live" film of an episode stored away some where waiting to be discove |
