There are two things I marvel about Jack French. The first is his ability to wink at us AND his knowledge of the radio show sponsors such as answering the Bickerson posting. I enjoy listening to the old advertisements as much as the programs themselves. Is there some listing of radio shows (all) along with their sponsors and the time duration of sponsorship?

Nate,

The "Bickersons" answer came straight out of John Dunning's book, "On the Air: The Encyclopedia of Old-Time Radio" (Oxford Press, 1998). With that book in hand, and Jay Hickerson's "New, Revised Ultimate History of Network Radio Programming and Guide to all Circulating Shows" (private printing, 1996), virtually anyone can take over my job at this site.

Jack: Ah, but you didn't tell us about the wink and so I guess you'll remain right where you are - Nate ;)

Some of the more or less famous shows, with soundbytes and sponsor information can be found at the "Famous Weekly Shows" pages at this site.

Just click on the thingie below, to go there.

Oh .. there are also soundbytes of some of the old advertising blurbs at this site ... but I'll leave it as an exercise to find them.
