As British comedy fans know, "Yes Minister" / "Yes Prime Minister" was a sharp political satire produced by the BBC for television.

Our local radio station, CJRT-FM, typically around 7:30 on weekday evenings will run 1/2 hour of British comedy / game shows, and, on Tuesdays, was running "The Goon Show". They have recently, however, put "The Goon Show" on hiatus, and are running "Yes Minister" episodes in its place. They have run two so far ("Open Government" and "Big Brother"), and they don't appear to be merely the soundtracks from the TV shows played over the radio. However, a search of the internet for "Yes Minister" turns up no references to a radio version of the show at all.

Does anyone have more information about the radio show - when it was aired, episode list, etc?

Thanks.

Sorry that I forgot to mention this, but CJRT has a RealAudio feed of their broadcasts, in case anyone was interested in listening to it. "Yes Minister" is currently running at 7:30 PM, EDT.

As with most (but alas not all) BBC TV comedy transferred to radio the shows would seem to be re-recorded rather than just soundtracks: there have been far more TV shows that originated on radio rather than vice-versa. 16 episodes of Yes Minister were re-recorded for BBC Radio 4 - series 1 (x8) broadcast from 18/10/83 series 2 (x8) broadcast from 9/10/84. Series 2 included a one hour special. These shows have received a number of repeats but I don't believe Yes Prime Minister has made it to radio.

"The BBC certainly knows a good thing when it hears it!" I know that the BBC Worldservice has adapted to radio other BBC-TV shows suchas "One Foot in the Grave". My personal favorite (or favourite) of the BBC Worldservice today is a modern day "old time radio" like soap opera entitled "Westway". Check out the BBC Worldservice's home page at www.bbcworldservice.co.uk and go to the We
