HELP ! Am desperately trying to find out the name of the evening radio program (early '40's), whose theme song was:

"You and I" - written by Meredith Willson

Lyrics begin, "Darling you and I know the reason why

a summer sky is blue.

And we know why, birds in the trees,

Sing melodies, too.

And why love will grow from the first hello

Until the last good-bye

So to sweet romance, there is just one answer

you and I (Actually, that's the whole song !)

Thanx for any help.

"You and I" was the theme of "Maxwell House Coffee Time" in the very early 40s. It starred Frank Morgan and featured "Baby Snooks" (Fanny Brice) and various "Daddies" Later, "Baby Snooks" became its own show and may have used the same theme song for a while (as I think I remember) However, "The Big Broadcast" radio book states that "Rockabye Baby" was the "Baby Snooks Show" theme.

Thank you, Mike for the answer I needed. My Barbershop Quartet will be performing this song Mothers' Day, preceded by "Lida Rose/'Til There Was You" medley (also written by M. Willson). I want to test the audience's memory regarding this theme song.

Thanks, again, for being so helpful.
