My grandfather is George Bruce. Writer and Screenplay writer. I am looking for information and stuff about him. I see his movies from time to time. But he has written so much, there must be things about him on the net. please let me know.

Since this is an OTR site, it's unlikely many visitors would know much about your grandfather since he has so little to do with radio. I have copies of the four existing copies of the radio series of "World War I Flyers" which was syndicated in the early 30s, and was based on his pulp stories.
I also have one reprint of his 1934 pulp mag story, "The Flaming Arrow" featuring Ace Avery. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.... Jack French Editor: Radio Recall |

| If you mean the aviation writer, try alt.pulp, a usenet group. I remember reading of him throwing a party for pulp writers in his apartment. While a group of pulpsters were boozing it up, Bruce was in a corner writing a 5000 word story for a magazine. Around midnight, he got up and announced it was finished - "Give me a drink!" Whata guy! |

| If you haven't noticed my quesion on this very discussion board regarding Air Stories of the World War from March 24, please check it out. Jack French kindly responded to my question there regarding your grandfather's otr series from the '30's and Elizabeth McLeod wrote a great response regarding the history of that program. I have two of the episodes from the series--if you want to write me off-line, I would be glad to mail |
