Does anyone know if there is a complete listing of Humphrey Bogart's appearances on the radio? I would love to know what he appeared in and then attempt to purchase them. If anyone knows of a resource I could use that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Much, Glen |

I'm not aware any such list, Glen, maybe you'd like to compile it. Start with "Bold Venture" that syndicated series starring Bogart and Bacall; 28 of the 78 broadcasts are still around. At one time or another Bogart was in several of the movie-type series: Lux Radio Theater, Academy Award Theater, Campbell Playhouse, and Screen Guild Players. He was occasionally on the anthology, "Romance" and also "Streamlined Shakespeare." He guested on several comedy and musical shows, icluding "Bing Crosby Show." And of course, he had a role in the 60 minute commercial for FDR that Norman Corwin talked all the networks into airing as a "documentary" on 11-6-44.

| At the Humphrey Bogart Tribute Page the link below accesses their Broadway/Radio/TV appearance pages. This is a really good start as a list. |

| Thanks everyone for the help. As a newbie to OTR and not a "fan"atic, I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find out more regarding "Bold Venture". Was this originally created as a vehicle for Humphrey Bogart? What years was it broadcast? Is there a book that might have this information so I can stop pestering you all for information :) ? Once again I appreciate the help. Yours, Glen |

Paraphrased from Dunning's book: Frederick Ziv created the concept specifically designed for Bogie and his wife. They agreed because tape made it possible for them to record the dialog for 3-4 shows in a week, letting others add the rest of the show (music, sound effects) later. About 78 shows were made and syndicated in 1951 and 1952. ----
Unfortunately, only about 26 episode remain for collectors, and lack of titles and dates make it difficult to collect. At my site I've compiled a list of all the shows I've found to date, with as many of the alternate titles as I've found so far. The listing (under the "Openings" radio) contains the dialog from the opening scene so collectors can match their copy with the other titles. To all collectors in general -- If you have other titles (and shows) not in my list, please let me know so I can add them to the list. Walt |

| We deal in radio shows featuring movie stars and list c.25 shows featuring Humhrey Bogart in our current catalogue (www.fairpickings.com on the web). Complete lists of any star's radio appearances are difficult to compile due to the fact that such things as radio guest appearances were simply not chronicled. |
