Had an inquiry on the theme music used on the American Airlines' all-night show. I remembered the program as "Music 'Til Dawn," and heard it on WJR. Can anyone help with the theme title? Thanks.

More specifically, the American Airlines Music Till Dawn theme, "That's All," which they used was recorded by Aquaviva and his Orchestra.

As long as we are talking about music in that same genre, two other songs that fall into the "lush theme song' category are Otto Cesana compositions, "Devotion" and "Ecstasy." They were used for many a late night movie theme on TV and as a "beautiful music" theme. I recall that WHN in New York used "Devotion" as a theme and bridge music between their "Great Albums of Music" sets of music.

And if anyone knows where I can get a copy of that music, please e-mail me! It is from Cesana's ECSTASY album.

My e-mail address is jstokes@mninter.net. And I am Jim Stokes, of course. Now stay tuned for the late night movie! hah. :)

Some record label information for "That's All." I believe that both Aquaviva and Otto Cesana recorded for MGM Records. That would make sense because the sing-between-the-notes songstress Joni James was married to her conducted/husband Acquaviva.

And that made sense that WHN would use a theme from the MGM Record library. Some sort of connection since WHN used to be called WMGM. That was before the payola scandals at the station under those call letters. :)

Incidentally, "That's All" was composed by Bob Haymes, who used the stage-name of "Bob Stanton". He was a brother of Dick Haymes, who enjoyed a very successful career as band vocalist, recording artist and radio and screen star.
