| As an old time radio guy myself, I and my friends are racking our brains trying to identify the program that always started out: "5 O'clock, and all's well in Wheatenaville!" It was a kid's adventure show - I listened every day back east, and this would be about 1935-40..I called the Wheatena company, and they couldn't answer it. Thanks for any info and my old time show website is: www.redblanchard.com Thanks for any help...Red |

Ok, Red, you can stop racking....the series was simply called "Wheatenaville Sketches" (and for at least one season, "Billy Bachelor") It was a 15 minute kids shows in which Billy was the editor of the Wheatenaville newspaper. He was the guardian of twins, Peter and Pan. Bobby Jordan, later to be a Dead End Kid, played Peter. No known audio copies have survived of this 1932-35 series.

| Thanks Jack for the update. Unfortunately, even after reading all your info I still don't recall Billy Bachelor, but that must be the answer. All I really recall is the clarion call: "5 O'clock, and all's well in Wheatenaville!" After all, this was about 65 years ago! Red Blanchard |
