I would like to draw your attention to a detailed episode log for this series which is at the website below:
http://www2.bitstream.net/~marksim/natlamp/nlrh/nlrhintro.html There is a fair amount of uncertainty concerning some of the sequence and the exact episode broadcast dates as listed in this log. And, as you can also see, there is a missing episode which Mark and I are trying to document. If anyone has ANY information on this series, please reply to me directly. Also, we are always on the lookout for folks who have copies of shows in this series as our copies of several of the episodes listed are of marginal audio quality. Dave, You may wish to get a 3-CD set from Rhino Records, titled "If You Don't Buy This Box, We'll Shoot This Dog: The Best of the National Lampoon Radio Hour." Many great sketches and songs are here. The booklet is very informative.

Oh, yes, I am very familiar with the Rhino box set, and can certainly recommend it as well to folks who are interested in a general overall sampling of this series!
For that matter, there is also available on CD a re-issue of the "Gold Turkey" LP which was a single disc "best-of" issue which came out after the series had left the air, as well as "The Lost Tapes" reissue program which came out in the early 1990's, and no doubt others. Obviously, the website referenced in the original post concerns itself with the original run of 59 shows, from which the various re-issues mentioned herein were drawn. And, to re-emphasize, we are always on the lookout for folks who might have copies of any or all of these original airchecks in their collection. Should anyone who reads this have any, please contac |
