Sorry, but Stewart's information--though well-intentioned-- is incorrect. I believe he was referring to the "Workshop" production of "Brave New World", which was indeed written by Aldous Huxley and featured him in the show. This two-parter was actually the series premiere. "1984" was written by George Orwell, and thus wouldn't have had Huxley as part of the broadcast. I know the "NBC University Theater" did an adaptation of "1984" sometime around 1948 or '49. I have the show and it's quite good, but I'm not sure of the exact broadcast date. Hope this helps you.
