Scott,
This won't be much of a search since only one episode from Bob Crane's radio series has survived. It's dated 11-13-57. Good Hunting..... Jack French |

| I have some short interview segments of Bob Crane from the early 60s... He talks with Spike Jones on one, and Red Ingle on another. |

Seems like I was reading a tribute to Bob Crane about 1-2 years ago in Don Barrett's Los Angeles Radio people website, which is: www.laradiopeople.com
There was a man who was quoted as saying he had an aircheck from 1960 or '61 of Bob Crane's KNX morning show, possibly an anniversary show which was very funny, he interviewed guests, played the drums and was a good radio host...Some who recalled him say he was the funniest morning personality in L.A. radio ever....My mom recalls listening to him a lot and said he was quite funny...Director-Actor Ron Howard remembers being on Crane's show at KNX and was impresed that he had a full drum set in the studio with him. You might go to this L.A. radio people website and check their archives...It may list Bob Crane and then go to that day and year, and you may find the mention of this aircheck..

A follow-up here...In 1997, Bob Crane, Jr. donated a sizeable collection of his father's airchecks to the Museum of Radio and TV in Beverly Hills...
I suppose visitors there cane check out the tapes and listen to them there of this legendary morning radio funnyman, before he became famous on TV. |

| Actually there are several Bob Crane airchecks that survive today (I have three). I got them from aircheck collectors on the internet. In addition to airchecks KNX put out at least two Bob Crane promo LPs that I know of: (1) Laffter, Sweet & Profane and (2) The Effervescent Humor of KNXtrovert Bob Crane. "Laffter" was Crane's 5th aniversary collection segment. If you've seen the Bob Crane E! True Hollywood Story you will recognize "Laffter"...the producers used the LP extens |
